And now Pauline Quirke has revealed what motivated her to lose weight: a television programme about sumo wrestlers.She told the Daily Mail: "I'd watched a programme about sumo wrestlers a few days before which said one of them tipped the scales at 20 1/2 stone. I thought, 'That's a lot of weight.' Then, the following week, I got on the scales and they said 19st 6lb. I thought, 'That can't be right', so got off, got on, got off again, twiddled the knob. It was definitely 19st 6lb."
She even went out and bought a new pair of scales, but when they confirmed her weight she realised she had to act.

World's oldest person to mark 115th birthday. A birthday party is planned at a north Georgia nursing home for Besse Cooper, who's listed as the world's oldest person.

Cooper will mark her 115th birthday Friday in Monroe. Family members and a researcher from the Guinness Book of World Records will attend the ceremony. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/rikpbf) Cooper will receive a plaque from the organization that determines the oldest person in the world.

Skeletal remains found in the chimney of an Abbeville, La., bank two months ago have been identified as those of a local man who hadn't been seen in 27 years.The remains are those of Joseph W. Schexnider, who vanished at age 22 in January 1984, Abbeville police Lt. David Hardy told CNN. Schexnider's disappearance was noted after he failed to show up for a court hearing on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle. When officers showed up at his home to take him in to custody, Schexnider's mother said he had fled to avoid arrest.
